Research interests

I’m a biologist, mostly using mathematical theory, phylogenetic methods, and comparative analyses to learn about evolution. I’m currently a staff scientist in the Theoretical Biology group at Los Alamos National Lab, where our focus is theory to understand and mitigate infectious disease.

Prospective postdocs: LANL has a large postdoc community, and it’s a great place to work with mentors of widely-varied expertise. If you’re interested in a postdoc position working on phylogenetic models of viral evolution (or other kinds of math models of infectious disease), I’m happy to discuss opportunities here.
