The lab of Emma Goldberg is based in the department of Ecology, Evolution & Behavior at the University of Minnesota. We study macroevolution and plant mating system evolution (and other topics…) though the lens of mathematical theory, phylogenetic methods, and comparative analyses.

And we are not alone!

  • Local collaborators: There is a great community here for evolutionary biology generally, and for plant evolution specifically. Here are the labs in EEB and labs in PMB.
  • Theory Under Construction: We host weekly discussions about in-progress work on mathematical modeling in biology. All are welcome to attend, participate, and receive feedback on ongoing projects.
  • Biological Theory Alliance: BioTA brings together researchers from across the university who use mathematical and conceptual modeling to understand biology.
